Hello Family, Friends and all those who have a vested interest in the endeavors of the Artopium Art Troupe. Thank you for finding this page so well. I hope to interest you in a grand idea, but before I get to that, let me just say that I want to personally thank each and everyone of you who helped a lending hand to get this awesome project off the ground. When you make a contribution. I will place your name and the amount donated next to the item it helped purchase, thereby showing you how well your money was spent.
The Artopium Art Troupe is a worthy cause. First of all, it is a collective of artists, musicians and all the other fine arts you've always supported (or wanted to support), so perhaps you'd donate on that value alone. But the Art Troupe isn't just about making their own craft. They seek to help many others to make money from their craft as well by means of the Roving Festival. So, when you make a donation to the Art Troupe, in essence you're helping every artist they help. And that's a good feeling!
Because the Artopium Art Troupe is living a 24/7 guerrilla urban camping lifestyle, you know the money you give will not be wasted on trivial things like hotels or fine food. Instead it helps us to buy the equipment necessary to enable us to not only survive a winter in the freezing cold rain of Portland, Oregon, with not much more than hammocks, sleeping bags and tarps, but to simultaneously run a professional art consignment booth in the city, called the "Artopium Art Booth".
The Art Troupe will also capture the entire adventure of existing in these extreme conditions on video (while maintaining a business in the city) and air it as a show called "Artopium's Guide to Urban Camping".
It's true that one of the reasons the Art Troupe camps is in part due to wanting to keep in with a frugal lifestyle. But we also hope to make a point: That people who do not sleep with four walls around them are not ineffectual. In other words, just because someone sleeps outside doesn't mean they can't do anything. They can. The Art Troupe can. You can! In fact it's happening already, but with your support by making a donation we will take this idea to the next level, and make it much bigger and much better, and help a few more starving artists put a few dollars in their pocket.
Although the Art Troupe isn't currently affiliated with any particular charity, I'm sure you can see the clear connection between homelessness and what we're doing. We hope in the future to create joint projects with organizations such as Sisters of the Road and New Avenues For Youth, wherein homeless youth are invited to help create a festival of their own, generating proceeds for their own charity. The Art Troupe itself is not a 501 non-profit business, but the money you donate or pledge today will go a long way in helping a number of great causes.
But it all starts with you. Every dollar counts and any and all donation amounts are welcome, however we are asking for $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, $200, or even $500 donations, or pledges to donate. Click on the donation button, simply enter in the amount you'd like to donate, such as "200.00". To send the donation, use your VISA, Master Card, American Express, or Discover card, or use your PayPal account. To donate simply click the yellow/orange "Donate" button above.
